How Visual Communication Impacts the Viewers
Visual Communication in
EVERYDAY LIFE
In today’s world we are impatient and have everything but TIME.
When one lacks time they don’t choose with their minds, they choose with their
eyes. 93% of our communication is non verbal and is already done with what our
eyes tell us.
Nothing will do well today if it is not aesthetically pleasing, be
it a website, product, application, movie, magazine, advertisement or
newspaper.
When we go to the market and we have to choose between two juice
bottles that have the same price, calories and ingredients, we will simply
choose the one that looks better because of it’s packaging that strikes us.
Visual
communication is being used every day in our life’s by eye catching advertisements, campaigns or
products. Anything that is visually
appealing leaves an impact in us and
makes us stop and look at it once again.
The
shape or design of even a technological product can make or break the success
of it. If a product does not look smart, sleek, comfortable, stylish then it
will look do well in the market.
WHY
ARE APPLE PRODUCTS SO SUCCESSFUL?
Because
they are simple, elegant & they all make a statement.
WHICH PERFUME WOULD YOU RATHER BUY?
They
both are the same price, same brand & smell the same
-
I can
assure you that you will buy the right
one because it’s simply prettier & will make you feel like you’ve bought something
worth it.
Visual
communication in magazines & newspaper helps
the reader understand and interpret the content which makes it easier &
interesting for the reader.
Visual
communication plays a very important role for websites & applications, a
website gains viewers only if it is easy to access and has shows its contents
(products,images,etc) clearly in an aesthetical
manner.
Applications
are used every second on our smart phone & they require to have more images
than text so that they are easy to access and fun to use.
Texting
today has become much easier because of emoticons (emojis) which are the visual
communication of texting. Instead of saying yes we send a thumbs up or instead
of saying on my way we send a car emoticon.
Typography plays an important roll in visual communication as
every font has a place & time to be used. Every font sets a different mood
for example-
Visual Communication in Film
& Animation
Look at what films deliver us - they set our imagination on fire
& make our wildest thoughts or dreams come true!
Movies such as Titanic, Harry Potter, Avatar, Interstellar, 300,
The Avengers have used software’s, camera tricks and many complicated
techniques to deliver us the quality which is so realistic that we have no
choice but to believe in the movie & the story it tells us.
